What Makes A Good Dance Shoe?

What makes a good dance shoe?

A good dance shoe is a dancers tool. It should be made of good material, constructed heavily, and include style.

There are several things that make a good dance shoe. It first has to be made of good material, have a good fit, and have good construction. Construction is how the shoe is made and tells how long its going to last without falling apart.

Working with dancers, we make sure their feet fit in a particular shoe. Something Very Fine is constantly doing is getting feedback from the dancers. Most of our inspiration comes from the dancers, because they are the people wearing the shoes. Just like a baseball player uses a bat or a mitt, a dancers shoe is their tool. Its important that we put a lot of time and energy into the foot testing and wearing process, so that its a perfect tool for them. So, what makes a good dance shoe is material, fit, testing, and of course style.

That’s why at The Dance Shoe Depot.com we offer a wide variety of quality ballroom dance shoes for women, men and kids. We also carry dance boots, dance sneakers and plateform shoes. We got it all, so come and see for yourself and I’m sure you be pleased with what you find!

Ballroom Dancing Tips Cont…

One of the common problems in the ballroom dancing scenario is that you need to anticipate your partner’s every move and match it comfortably. Since men will be expected to lead, they should lean a bit in the direction that they intend to step. A minor lean should indicate a smaller step, while a lean of greater proportion should signify a larger step. Ladies should become accustomed to leaning in the same direction, once they perceive their partners’ signal. This will avoid a rough start, as well as choppy moves once the dance begins.Think of it as a kind of silent dance language.

Accomplishing good form and style is contingent upon proper footwork. Remember to align your feet parallel with your partner’s – with the toe of one foot pointed between his or her feet; carry your weight on the ball of your foot; take definite steps while avoiding the tendency to drag the feet; and make sure to step from the hip so that the leg can move freely from the joint and strive to keep your feet close together when changing course in order to maintain a good sense of balance.

Other ways to improve your balance is with a good quality pair of ballroom dance shoes. Lucky for you we have a wide selection of mens, ladies and kids ballroom dance shoes at The Dance Shoe Depot.com. We also carry a wide variety of comfortable dance boots and dancing sneakers along with the ability to create your own custom pair of ballroom dance shoes. Come and see for yourself and I think you’ll agree we are what your looking for!
